growin up (new journal entry, added Jan 5, 2007) Today I went to look at some of my dad’s pictures on my computer. He sorts by what year he took them. I saw 2007. I am so used to clicking 2006. I don’t know why, but it made me sad. So much happened for me in 2006. I haven’t felt sad at all that the year ended, so I guess it was due. The weirdest things make me sad. Like the pictures. I looked in the 2006 folder. There are so many categories of things we did, pictures my dad took. Like, some folders were; Minnesota, Backpacking, Spring Break, Zion National Park, Wedding, Deception Pass… and lots more. And, I know those already happened, but it’s like, they are really over. The year of 2006 is really over, and it is gone forever. So many amazing things happened last year. It was a wonderful part of my life. I went to Minnesota in August to meet my new step family. I love them all so much, and I had a fantastic time with them. We had so much fun there.
And, not to mention my last year in middle school, with the astounding Mrs. Ale...click for more...
My Christmas Story (new journal entry, added Dec 22, 2006)“There was a boy named John, and he had a big pimple on his butt”--- Warren Henke
This lovely little topic starter was supposed to spark a story idea, but instead has convinced me to write my Christmas feelings, traditions, and how it comes about each year…
When I was little, I would start getting excited for Christmas right after Thanksgiving. From November 23rd-ish, it was still a month away, but it was hard not to be excited when Gramma Henke put up her decorations, and Christmas tree. To me, Christmas was always an amazing and magical time. My favorite place to be around Christmas was definitely Grandma and Grandpa’s house. I loved the smells, the decorations, the frosted sugar cookies, and, mostly, I loved the family together. I can remember one night specifically, when Kimi and Brett, Kim and Brett, Ryry, Angi and Steve, my parents, Gramma and Grandpa, and all the little grandchildren were over at Gramma’s. The mistletoe was out, the singing Disney characters, the poinse...click for more...
Tristan+Isolde (new movie entry, added Nov 5, 2006) This movie was amazing. I can't even describe it! It is very sad, so make sure you have tissues around. The costumes are awesome, and the scenery is breathtaking. It is based around the time of King Arthur, but more realistic. I definitely recommend seeing it. But it's not a feel good movie, so don't expect to be in a very happy mood after. Still, you need to watch it. I am actually watching it right now, for the second time. I love it so much. And Tristan (James Franco) is soooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!...click for more...
Eragon (new book entry, added Nov 5, 2006) This book is by far, my new favorite. I absolutley love fantasy books, and this one is amazing. I would love to say something else, but it would give away too much. So, just read it. It reminds me so much of another book, and I can't place it. If you like books about magic, dragons, kings, stuff like that, read this book!
Eragon is the first of the Inheritence trilogy, the second is Eldest, and the third hasn't been published yet....click for more...
Haven Lock (new story entry, added Oct 30, 2006) As Laura looked at the bizarre little house sitting on the hood of her car, playing with the antenna, and it was decided, this was the one in the will. It was two stories, and inside it had many rooms and stairways, it was almost daring you not to get lost. The outside was painted a shadowy grey, while the trim was a peculiar shade of purple, gleaming, in a way. Shutters hung from the windows, and grime clouded them, where they weren’t broken that is. The yard was a musty dark green color; it was unkempt, and uncared for. The trees in the yard were naked and dark brown, even in the fall, where they should be full of bursting yellow and red. The house itself was a quaint little 1890s house, and lived on a hill, alone, as if exiled from the tiny town a few miles down the road. As Laura just stared in bewilderment at the house, many thoughts crossed her mind, but the most prominent one was, “I’ll bet it’s even scarier at night!” But if Laura only knew.
Laura Morgan had just finished her ...click for more...
